The g/f is still looking for a 1300 (man, is she picky...)  Well, we went over to Hurst yesterday to look at this one http://dallas.craigslist.org/mdf/mcy/1094455190.html ...   Looked good, '07 with 2800 miles in new condition for $5900, we were all set to buy it.  Went to get the VIN # to call the insurance company, and guess what...  The VIN sticker on the left downtube is removed, and the steering head has been sawed off and replaced with one with NO VIN # stamped in it...   The bike has NO VIN# anywhere...  We asked the guy about it (the bike is at Reed's Classic V-Twins on Hurst Road).  He said he bought it at auction, has never had a problem with bikes bought there,  and doesn't normally check the VIN's.  So I don't know if he's the perp or the victim, but I know we ain't either one...   Just FYI for anybody that might be looking at this bike.

Get the engine number and run it through NICB.

So, he's a bike shop and never thinks to look at VIN's?  That's just common sense.

I would never deal with that place imo.  Thanks for the heads up.
