motorcycle tire question
« on: September 04, 2006, 02:36:16 PM »

Do motorcyle tires have those same little wear markers on them like car tires? The ones where you see little strips of rubber that go across the treads when you are getting low on tread? It looks like I might have some on my back tire but when you look at the tire it appears that I have plenty or tread. BTW my tires are Avons.

I don't know specifically about the Avons, but the stock Dunnies I've got are showing a wear strip.  That's why I'm replacing them with Avons this week.

You should be fine Sherri.  I just put those tires on right before you bought it.  You should be able to get 15000 miles out of them if not more. ;)

I told her Sunday, she had all kinds of tread left, there is hardly any gone. What she is looking at can't be a tread marker.

On the stock dunnies the wear bars are marked by small triangles along the edge of the tread (there's 3 or 4).

On the Avons, I think that the wear bars are marked by the little snake head logos near the edge of the tread.

I hope this helps.
