Speedo lighting problem
« on: March 06, 2009, 05:45:38 PM »

Ok folks my first problem ever with the bike,1300R. First off all the lights work properly(low beam, high beam, and turn signals). The problem is the indicator lights in the speedo are working intermittently and sometime not at all. Anyone have a solution for the problem. Not a very good electrician. Checked all the connections and wires for looseness and ground, but still not working.

Checked all the connections inside the headlight bucket?? Might want to take some WD-40 and take each connector apart and shoot some in the connection. That would be my first thing to do.

check the connectors under the tank towards the front on the clutch side.

Right on Tinman - had exactly that same problem, and it was the connector under the tank, thank goodness for duct tape.  :o

That's what I was thinking too, but on the 1300's it's behind the front right side spark plug cover.  Two green connectors inside a black rubber boot.   ;D If you didnt check them already that is.

Checked the wires, but still not working. Put everything back together and took the bike to the dealer. Still under warranty, maybe they can find it.
