George Strait Cowboys Stadium
« on: February 28, 2009, 10:26:17 AM »

Being a George fan and only living 10 miles from the new tribute stadium to the king of greed Jerry Jones. I thought I would see if I could snag a couple of tickets to the cheap seats at 40 bucks.  No chance, tickets went on sale at 10, got on the information superhighway right then, at 10:02 the cheap seats, gone!  Just for grins I selected best available, when it got thru processing, this is what I was qouted;

2 x 104.50 for seats at the far end from the stage
2 x 13.65 convenience charge - wth is a convenvience charge anyway
1 parking 38.00 - I just need the space for 5 hours, I didn't want to buy it

Total - 274.30 plus Obama tax I am sure

Not including eats and drinks.  Sorry Jerry, you will have live without my contribution.

I am sure at some point the concert will be released on cable or a dvd and I will sit in by home and watch for;

2 comfortable seats on the couch - 0
Convienence charge - Nada
Six pack, hot wings and some chips less than 20 bucks.

very wise, I won't pay that much to see anyone. Too much good music being played by unknowns. Don't fall for the clear channel communications marketing crap. support the up and coming.

 Six pack?  Buy a case or two. Invite some friends with their wings and treats. Make party of it and you're still ahead of the game.

Don't laugh too loud. I once paid $280.00 (x2) for tickets for Pink Floyd at Rice Stadium.
I was dead center, 16 rows back. Best concert experience of my life. The show was called
early due to rain but I would not trade seeing Pink Floyd for the world.

Concerts suck these days, and have for quite awhile. Overpriced, and you never know what knucklehead you will end up next to, chattering away. The wife and I went to see Don Henley at the Northrop Auditorium in Minneapolis, on his first tour since End of the Innocence. We ended up sitting next to two couples that came in together, and the drunk a** women would not shut up. After listening to them screech above the music for two songs, I leaned over my wife and said:

I came here to see Don, not to listen to you two. Would you please SHUT THE F*CK UP!!!

We didn't hear a peep the rest of the show. I suspect their husbands/boyfriends were sick of listening to them as well.  >:(
