VTX Service - Conroe Area
« on: February 23, 2009, 07:59:47 PM »

My VTX is approaching the 4000 mile mark.  I took it to Cycle Shack North in Conroe for the 600 mile service.  I was not dissatisfied with their service but, was wondering if there is a better place to take our VTXs in the Conroe area for routine service. While I still change the oil in my Tundra, I am new to riding and have no experience in maintaining a bike. Until I learn how to do such things I need to pay to have them done...rather than pay to have them done correctly after I've screwed it up.  Any service location recommendations you can provide will be appreciated.

Thanks.

Just come over and we can change your oil.  I don't have the tools to do the valve adjustment.......But I bet we could Mr VTX (Jason) to come over with his.
No need in paying a stealer.

Put a case or two of cold brew in the garage and some BBQ on the grill. :c Then post it here. You will come out money ahead. I think somebody put their bike back together that way a couple weeks back.

I tore into to mine, posted a question here and had an expert on the telephone in ten minutes.

There is a unwritten rule, that shall never feel the stroke of a pin. That those who handle the wrenches remain sober enough to see that the job is done right, and that those who want to learn are taught. Once the work is done, and tested, they can catch up on the beer drinking. The members of the group who are drinking a lot are used for holders and gofers.

Nothing wrong with a couple of beers, to calm down and get in the mood. When I'm into it, I won't stop to drink, or eat. There are times I get pissed, and I force myself to stop, and walk away, drink a beer, play with the dog, what ever, then when I go back usually, I wonder why I was having a problem at all. I put on floor boards today and had to walk away two times. Small stupid stuff kept going wrong. Its done now. I am a happy camper, I think. Short test ride was good, but I'll know for sure after a couple of hundred miles.
