How to figure fair price for new tire
« on: February 08, 2009, 10:16:29 PM »

I have a new metzler front tire and want to figure a fair price to try and sell it. It fits VTX 1800 r,s,n,t. Stealership says they sell them for 215.00. Bought it in an internet promotion buy rear get front free...site failed to mention that front will not fit my bike even after I called to confirm...

They should take it back and send you the right size. What site was it so the rest of us don't give them any business?

I would think that you are going to have to get more specific than just a Metzler, as there are a couple front tires for those model bikes. You can look here for an example.

I have seen some of these promotions they may put a package together and sell it as is.  The rear tire may fit a R, and S model but the from only fits the R model.  so pretty much he got a free front tire...  best thing to do is to figure how much the tire cost and sell it for 1/2 the price.

I got two tires on line... 1 front for my Buell and the rear tire for the Ultra.  I paid 186.00 for both tires shipped.

Well it looks like i got one of those deals..nothing like getting something for free that you can't use...lol...my task it trying to find out what it costs dealership told me they sell it for around 200 and i have gotten emails saying they can get it for 114 +s&h...so i went with what it cost me for my tire 140.00...but with everything price is negotionable to a point...thanks for the advice.
