Turn signals question
« on: March 30, 2009, 11:43:40 AM »

Does any one have any ideas about being able to move the turn signals and horn to the right side?

I have a brother who bought an 05 Neo - I'm converting the clutch over to automatic that he can control with the throttle which takes care of the clutching issue.  We still have those two little jewels to consider.

I have a buddy in Lake Chuck that had electronic shifter on one of his bikes.  He used his horn button.  He just punched the button and shifted.  I don't recall how he down shifted.  The shifter is common on drag bikes.

This is the scoop on all that is happening!! Hangman's brother has limited use of his left hand and can grab things with it but to push buttons is kinda hard! That is why the change over. Other thing that John and I have been doing with Torque in the begining was convert a 2006 VTX 1800N over to a automatic. YES AUTOMATIC!! Just about have it buttoned up and ready to ride. Have one more day set up to do a adjustment and should be road worthy. Just twist the gas and change the gears with the foot pedal without pulling the clutch handle. We have been told that he has done this before to a VTX but we don't think so with all the problems we have gotten into. Had to have a spacer made for the housing twice to make it fit and look good in the process.  8)

A 5-pin relay can move the output from a switch to a second device. After starting the bike flip a switch to the relay and the starter button could be used to activate the horn.

I have my aux driving lights on a 5-pin relay. When I hit the horn button the power to my driving lights switches over to the horn. Honking the (air) horn flashes the driving lights.

No quick fixes come to mind on the turn signals.

They make switches that mount on top of the brake reservoir that could be used to turn on an off the turn signals.

As Chad said - all great ideas - I'll bounce them off the brother and we'll try to figure out the details.  I do like the foot switch idea.  Never thought of that one.
