ride at the back, I like the back...david...sounds like we all need to visit broc's neighborhood. Luckily I have nice neighbors so the 5 am rides to work don't seem to bother them much...I also don't twist the throttle on those early mornings...

You're not going to bother me...the problem is we're drawing unwanted attention to ourselves.  Check up on some of the laws that have passed, are going through and being discussed.  That's why I still have my stock exhaust in the garage.

There's loud and then there's obnoxious.  Like I said, I have bigshots with Big City Thunder baffles which is plenty loud, but I've been eyeing some roadhouse shorty's to tone it down a bit.  I enjoy longer trips and the loud pipes are known to wear you down faster on longer distances.

To each their own, but the noise ordinances are going to win in the end regardless of how you feel about it.

Regarding the OT, 2 into 1 pipes usually have better scavenging than 2 into 2 pipes, HOWEVER, that does not guarantee that every 2 into 1 will out perform any 2 into 2.

V + H and Jardine (and possibly others) have 2 into 2's with crossovers that provide the scavenging and performace of a 2 into 1.

This will surely ruffle a few feathers, but that monsterous collecter on the sideburners does not provide as good of scavenging as other designs due to the huge difference in volume/exhaust gas flow between the head pipe(s) and the collector.

But, if that sound is what cha want, go for it!!!

I can't really speak to the performance aspect.  In my experience, a poorly performing 1800 is pretty strong.  I got them for the sound.  If I got another half a pony, YAY.  If not, YAY.  I'm not terribly worried about my hearing or fatigue.  Something I've always noticed is that they don't sound nearly as loud to me when I'm in the saddle as they do to someone not on the bike.  While I'm in the saddle most other pipes sound louder to me than mine.  Of course when I hit the underpass I can hear 'em a little.  Most of the bubbas prefer I ride in the right hand file of a staggered column for some odd reason.     I'm cool with that.  I just dig the pipes.
