need a little help from friends around Kileen
« on: January 13, 2009, 08:41:06 PM »

My son recently moved up to the Kileen area and is in need of work. He is trying to turn his life around. If anyone knows of work for a 19 year old trying to do this give me a shout.
Thanks

construction is real slow in the Killeen area right now, lots of folks been looking for jobs and almost nobody's hiring(if anybody is at all)

If I hear of anything I'll let you know

Good luck and God Bless

He should check with contractors/construction on the base(Ft. Hood).  They will never stop working because of govt. money.

Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally wornout, shouting..."What a Ride!"

Agree with Beaux43, Have him show up outside the unemployment office at the crack of dawn...contractors needing plain labor will cruise by there early, looking for good help. If they like him, he'll progress to a regular job with them. Tell him not to cruise around D street around payday though.... ;D

Well if he is going to hang around a military base why not enlist and learn a trade.

Hard to argue with that. When I was 18 I was going down the wrong path quickly, Millitary straightened me out, went into electronics, and now have a good career repairing and maintaining medical equipment, plus the GI bill and State of Texas would help pay for an education after he got out. Money is decent if he is single and instant independance.
